Benefit

The benefits of organic gardening are awesome and to numerous to list all here. So I will keep adding them as I see fit. I am growing organic crops. I started a few years back, well 10 years ago and then got into horses and replaced my garden. Now I have 80 acres and my horses and my new garden area. So I am starting brand new. I grew a good crop the last two years and plan on expanding.

I am growing in South Central Missouri in a rural community called Summersville. This year I grew tomatoes (of course) cucumbers, watermelon, cantelope, stevia, zucchnin, cilantro. Last year I grew green peppers and basil also.

Ogranic farming is not any more expensive then the big agribusiness chemical and GMO products to grow. But what it does offer is a way to contribute healthy and sustainable food for my family. Eventually for the community as well. We all need to start growing organically. It makes sense and it is much better for the earth and for our health. Organic foods have more nutrients in them then the chemically grown counterparts. Why? Because there is no disturbance in the microorganisms that are in the soil. When you use chemicals you kill these organisms that are essential for soil health and plant health. You can’t fool mother nature, you need to work with her.  If the public demands good healthy food we can change the world we can change agri-business. Even Del Monte is offering Organic products. I sent them a thank you note.

My success in gardening is only as a good as my knowledge about what the plants need to be the best they can be. My melon crops failed this year. I read a little about melons and found that I did not have the perfect soil for them, nor did I feed them enough. Although I have not had a chance to investigate in depth my problems; I will. My melons grew to almost harvest and then like a balloon they deflated. It was not pest, but soil conditions and maybe too much rain. It appeared they rotted from the inside. My tomatoes did great although as usual I crowed them too much. I will learn. Next year I am planning on many tomatoes, more basil, more melons, onions, cilantro, zucchini, green beans, garbanzo beans, and many other plants. I love to can my own salsa and relish. Thanks Iris for the great zucchini relish recipe, it is a hit with everyone.

Organic, you should purchase organic products and support the producers who give us this great gift. Let’s turn the world around and go back to a way of living that was clean, healthful and tasty.

More to come. Please join me in my search for a sustainable way of living. Organic is the way to go and buying locally. As my mother always said, buy American, and we didn’t listen. Look where that got us.

You see, Barack Obama is seeking sweeping new powers to “shut down” all private internet in the event of a “cybersecurity emergency” — a vague term that the President can define at his discretion.

And Rockefeller’s bill gives Barack Obama just what he wants.

That’s why this expansive new power grab should really be called “The Internet Takeover Bill.”

As you know, the Internet has developed into an independent sphere where 1st Amendment Rights can still be (fairly) freely exercised.

It’s also become an important outlet for liberty-minded speech, cutting around the Obama-worship and corporate censorship of the mainstream media.

And we’ve already seen the Obama Administration’s reaction to any online speech they deem “fishy.”

In July, the Administration called upon Americans to report their friends’ and neighbors’ emails to help Barack Obama silence the “disinformation” about the Obamacare bills in Congress.

Well now Barack Obama wants to cut out the middle man.

If the Internet Takeover Bill passes, Barack Obama can silence his dissenters directly — by ordering a shutdown of the U.S. Internet.

That’s right, under this bill Barack Obama can order all non-government U.S. networks to shutdown from the Internet.

But that’s not all.

Even outside of periods of White House-declared “emergency,” this bill mandates that private-sector networks only be managed by government-licensed “cybersecurity professionals.”

If you think dealing with your office IT department is bad now, just wait until they’re federally-licensed bureaucrats.

And God forbid you like to visit websites that spread “fishy disinformation” like free-market healthcare solutions; passing socialized medicine could soon become enough of an “emergency” for Barack Obama to shut them down.

You know, for the public good.

Well I know I like writing to you, and I hope you like hearing from me.

Or if not me, at least you probably like staying in touch with your family and friends, and having access to uncensored news and current events.

Cap and Trade: Just say no

If you read CBS.com the link that Talks about Glenn Beck, you can read comments from people. I don’t want to leave a comment there because I don’t want CBS to have my account login, or be able to include me as one of their followers.

We who watch Fox are not duped. You can’t be duped when the truth is being told and the evidence is there for all to see. I read online and get the same stories that Fox shares, I don’t see these stories on the fringe media. The Fringe media forgot what their networks were suppose to do.

I am so thankful to Fox news, Glenn Beck, and O’reilly and the others. Thank you to all the watch dogs. It is so overwhelming as to what is going on in our beloved US. I don’t know where to begin. I think we need to clean it up one ping pong ball at a time, one corruption at a time, one corrupt at a time, one Senator at a time, one congressman at a time, one bill at a time, one organization at a time, one tax sucking special interest group at a time.  It is huge. It is beyond decency.

CBS, NBC wake up dudes, we the people are not a bunch of stupid, ignorant, racist, democratic hate mongers. We are fed up, that is who we are. I have been fed up for many years, I vote libertarian, I vote constitutionalist, I vote Ron Paul, I vote Ross Perot, I vote for the decent man or woman who won’t lay down their values to line their pockets and their political careers at the expense of We the People.

I did not vote Obama because his beliefs are not the same as mine or even close.

Media Blitz

Write an email or snail mail to NBC, CBS, MSNBC and your local papers. Tell them to start doing their job. I have stopped watching these news stations and solely watch fox network to get the stories. I use to watch the above networks only and found I was lacking information. Demand they step it up or we won’t watch. Then how will we know when they fix their issue. Oh well so sorry CBS, NBC, MSNBC.

Missouri sovereignty Act

1) Food Sovereignty Act

This is being coordinated between The Well-Fed Neighbor Alliance (Galen Chadwick, Springfield), The Statesmen For Our Constitutional Republic (Me, Stotts City), and the Campaign For Liberty (Me as liaison to WFNA and 7th District Coordinator).

The goal is to “clarify” Missouri’s stance on the Interstate Commerce Law and state that food (produce, meat, dairy, livestock, and agricultural products) produced and sold within the state of Missouri does not come under the “Commerce Clause” and is not reachable by Federal laws such as HR 2749 (“Food Safety Enhancement Act”) or programs such as NAIS when justified under the Commerce Clause.
Missouri is the final authority on food safety within its own borders.
It also has some provisions for protecting farmers from invasive GMO or otherwise modified organisms (essentially making this consistent with policy on livestock), asserting Missouri’s authority over in- state emergency response efforts and personnel, and for encouraging private distributed food storage for emergency use. A purpose statement and description of provisions has been drafted and looked over by the staff of several legislators, including Jim Lembke, Don Ruzicka, Jack Goodman, and Jim Guest. This statement/description must be finalized so that legislative staff (presumably Jim Lembke’s) can draft a bill prior to the 1 December pre-file deadline. State Senator Chuck Purgason has also expressed interest in this effort although I cannot recall if he or his staff have seen existing drafts.

One of the ongoing efforts is research on information given by Doreen Hannes that we might be able to make a stronger stance on the Commerce Clause, specifically that “Commerce” as defined in Constitutional context, does not include private transactions between individuals (even across state lines) but only transactions involving a middleman or broker.

2) 2nd Amendment Protection

There is substantial interest in a 2nd Amendment-related bill which, similar to above, “clarifies” the Commerce Clause to not apply to production of firearms, ammunition, or accessories produced and sold within Missouri. This would be modeled after legislation passed in other states.

In additional to this,there is interest in a bill directly reenforcing the BATFE’s stance that “black powder” or “black powder substitutes” (e.g. Pyrodex or Triple-7) is a “propellant” not an “explosive” and that its use, production, and sale as a propellent in Missouri (e.g. for model rocketry and for muzzle-loading weapons) is protected. Federal regulation requires licensing for black powder use as an explosive (e.g. for blasting or fireworks) and there is no intent to challenge that here. Even though such a bill would simply restate an existing Federal position, it would enshrine the distinction in Missouri law to prevent Federal or State regulations from changing that position. Since black powder or black powder substitutes are able to be manufactured in Missouri from Missouri raw materials, protections would allow and encourage the local production of some local munitions.

I am attempting to coordinate with the Missouri 2nd Amendment Coalition and the NRA/ILA on these measures but am very early in this process.

I have also heard of effort at targeted expansion of Missouri Castle Doctrine to include protections for defensive use of firearms in a situation where the shooter is a guest and armed with permission of a landowner and for situations where the landowner is defending property where they do not reside, but I have not been able to find out much about it.

Anyway, those are the efforts I am aware of.
